SMAKPLANETEN

Smakplaneten is an educational board game that helps children explore sustainable food in a playful way. At Smakplaneten, the children meet, for example, Zara Zucchini, Papa Pakchoi and Hayvin Oatmeal rice, just to name a few. The aim is to play out a new relationship to healthy and climate-smart foods and broaden children’s tastes. It’s also meant to be a first step in creating a language for taste experiences beyond “yucky” and “good”.

The game is divided into a number of different levels. At each level, the children get to taste three sustainable foods and describe their appearance, smell, consistency, texture and taste. After completing the level, they receive a diploma that praises their efforts as explorers on Smakplaneten.

Smakplaneten is developed in collaboration between Beteendelabbet, Consupedia, Göteborgs university, Västra Götaland region and WWF, with funding from the Swedish Innovation Authority Vinnova.

During the fall of 2024, we will test Smakplaneten together with preschools in Enskede and Järfälla. The game material includes levels, cards, diplomas and a detailed teacher’s guide with a number of short follow-up questions.

Do you work in preschool and want to test the game in your own business? Please contact the project manager Anne-Charlotte Holmlöv at Consupedia.
